Swiss Machining of a Stainless Steel Valve Stem for a Pressure Management Valve

A global value manufacturer needed a domestic source for Swiss machining of a specialty valve stem. What makes this unique is the requirement for rolled threads. Their previous supplier made these in 2 operations, we were able to drop them off complete in one operation, while running lights-out. This significantly improved the overall quality of the parts while controlling costs for the customer.

Production processes included rough & finish turning, thread rolling, grooving, and milling. The Parts was made from 303 stainless steel, and measured 1.500″ long with an OD of .312″, and a tolerance of +/- .0004″
